New features in the scanning module 2025-06-12

The scanning module has undergone several improvements in response to your suggestions for improvement since its launch last fall. Here are the new features:

  1. Filter the list of scanned documents by institution: The list of scanned documents is filtered according to the selected institution.
  2. Move a scanned document to another institution: From the list of documents to be indexed, right-click on the document to be moved, select the Move to site option, and then select the destination institution from among the institutions to which you have access.
  3. Improve the readability of the scanned document: The Improve readability checkbox at the bottom of the scanned document preview screen is checked by default.
  4. Search for the patient in the Omnimed EMR: The purple person icon opens the Omnimed EMR in your web browser with the patient's file.
  5. New settings in the General tab (optional) :
    1. Start in the Fax tab: Check the Start in the fax tab box to open the Fax tab at startup instead of the Local tab.
    2. Hide the Carbon copy section: Check the Hide the Carbon copy section box to collapse it by default.
    3. Preset today's date: Check the Preset today's date box to display today's date in the Date field. This date can then be changed as needed.
    4. Fit to page: Check the Fit to page box to select the page-adjusted view mode for all documents rather than width-adjusted.
    5. Use a secure shared directory (SFTP): Check the Use a secure shared directory (SFTP) box to add buttons for retrieving or sending documents via a directory shared between users in your organization. This option allows you to scan documents from the clinic and then send them to the SFTP to retrieve and file them from another location (e.g., working from home).
    6. Shared folders: Add a directory to share faxes and templates between users in your organization.
  6. Encrypt all scanned documents: For privacy protection purposes, all documents scanned on the workstation are encrypted so that they can only be viewed from the scanning module.
  7. New advanced settings in the Advanced tab (section reserved for your IT manager or the Omnimed technical team). Contact our technical department for an analysis of your organization's specific needs.
