The COVID-19 pandemic requires an unprecedented level of adaptation. The ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux (MSSS) and Quebec health institutions are currently issuing directives allowing you to electronically send your laboratory, imaging, consultation and service requests directly using the online fax solution.
In the past few months, the MSSS has also started a process to make standard requests accessible for the province, all on the same electronic platform. Thus, the laboratory request is already available in the Eastern Townships region, while most of the imaging requests will soon be available in the Service d'acheminement de formulaires informatisés et suivi de requêtes (SAFIR).
Omnimed supports the MSSS in its strategy of standardizing requests and has taken the initiative of adding the scanned signature on general requests present in the EMR in order to enable them to be faxed. We are working on optimizing the input of requests and standardizing the final display format according to the new MSSS standards.
In this context, we are now stopping the maintenance and updating of regional requests in order to focus our efforts in this new direction.
