Find out how to keep track of a patient's outstanding invoices, and how to pay invoices in batches.
Display patient balance
The patient balance is the difference between the credit and debit of transactions documented in the private billing module. To adjust the balance associated with the patient, please proceed to bill payment as described in the Register payments on multiple invoices at a time section below.
The patient balance is displayed in two places in the EMR:
- In the Patient administrative center, in the Administrative information section.
- It also appears in the header of the private billing module.
Register payments on multiple invoices at a time
The History section of the Private billing module enables batch payment of several invoices associated with a patient.
To register a payment on more than one invoice at a time:
- Click on the Record a payment button.
- Select the company to automatically filter all associated invoices payable (optional).
- Manually select the invoices to be paid, or check the Select all box in the list header. The number of invoices selected and the associated total amount are displayed at the bottom of the list.
- Select payment method.
- Enter a comment (optional).
- Click on the Pay button.
Note
- The Record a payment window only displays invoices with a balance to pay.
- Batch payment of invoices is only possible for one company at a time. It is therefore not possible to pay invoices for several companies simultaneously.
- Batch payment implies payment of the entire balance of the selected invoices. It is not possible to make partial payments from this window.
