Encourage your patients to move to help prevent illness

Physical activity is an effective treatment for preventing a large number of diseases. You probably advise your patients to move more, especially since the pandemic. As some patients need more motivation, here are some tips:

  • Fill out the Exercise prescription and consultation request (Life habits group) or the Free prescription (Requisitions group) in order to give them an “official” prescription giving them specific guidelines to follow;
  • Print the trendline of their results to show them the fruit of their effort. You could, for example, print the results curve related to their diabetes or cholesterol to show them how their physical activity had a positive impact;
  • Use our email or SMS feature to send your patients information on the walking clubs in your town or other resources to which you want to refer them to or even to the events' website that invite them to be active.

By the way, for an eighth consecutive year, the Grand défi Pierre Lavoie and the Fédération des médecins omnipraticiens du Québec encourage you to invite your patients to participate to the Grande marche, on October 14,15 and 16, and to join it as well. Here is the invitation video from Pierre Lavoie and Dr Marc-André Amyot (available in French only).
